SEO Specialist: Technical SEO, Local SEO & Content Strategy
As an SEO specialist I run technical SEO audits, build keyword-driven content strategy, and manage on-page and local SEO that turns search visibility into qualified organic traffic — using SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog and Google Search Console every day.
Where I Add Value
Hands-On SEO Across Every Layer of a Site
Technical SEO Audits
Full audits covering site architecture, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, title tags, meta descriptions, header structure, response codes and XML sitemaps, using Screaming Frog and SEMrush.
On-Page & Content Strategy
Keyword research, content optimization and keyword-focused content built from real search demand and competitor gap analysis.
Local SEO & Google Business Profile
Service and location pages, Google Business Profile management and accurate NAP data that help small businesses win local searches.
Link Building & Off-Page SEO
Backlink building through outreach, guest posting, citations and directories, plus toxic-link review and disavow in Search Console and SEMrush.
Schema & Site Architecture
Schema markup, SEO-optimized WordPress builds and site structure recommendations that support crawling and indexing.
Analytics & Reporting
GA4 and Search Console monitoring to track organic performance, flag indexing issues and deliver clear client-facing reports.
My Process
How I Approach an SEO Project
01
Audit the Site
I crawl with Screaming Frog and SEMrush to catch technical errors and weak or missing title tags, meta descriptions and H1s.
02
Find the Openings
I look for “low-hanging fruit” keywords with solid search volume and low competition that the site can realistically win.
03
Build Better Content
I write around related terms and add topic FAQs, with more depth, a fresh angle and a better user experience than competing pages.
04
Measure & Report
I track results in GA4 and Search Console and report progress in plain English so clients know what’s working.

Where This Comes From
Real Agency and Client SEO Experience
I work as a Search Marketing Specialist at FreshRobot in Hickory, NC, running technical SEO audits, backlink and content strategy, and Google Business Profile management across client accounts. Since 2024 I’ve also freelanced as an SEO consultant for local service businesses, and I built my own SEO lab, KrisDoesEnglish.com, to test keyword research and on-page strategy from the ground up.

SEO Now Includes AI Search
The same foundations that rank a page also get a business cited in Google AI Overviews and ChatGPT answers. See how I approach GEO and AIO. This page sits under my internet marketing expertise hub, alongside PPC and Google Ads. I also build and rebuild the sites this work runs on.
FAQ
SEO Questions
Yes. I am open to remote SEO specialist, technical SEO and search marketing roles. I am based in North Carolina, work Eastern Time and take remote positions nationwide.
I do it myself. I crawl the site in Screaming Frog, then fix redirects, status codes, canonicals, duplicate titles, thin pages, schema and internal linking directly in WordPress. A developer only gets involved when something needs a template or server change.
I start with anything blocking crawling or indexing, because nothing else matters until pages can be found. After that I look at pages already ranking on page two, since small on-page and internal linking changes there usually move the needle faster than new content.
Semrush for research, position tracking and backlink audits, Screaming Frog for crawls, Google Search Console for query and coverage data, Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager for behavior and conversions, Rank Math for on-page and schema, and Google Business Profile for local.
Rankings from Semrush position tracking, impressions and clicks from Search Console, and conversions from GA4. I report on qualified traffic and leads rather than rankings alone, because a first-place ranking for the wrong query does not help anyone.
